Luckiest Casinos in Vegas Revealed

Ever wondered which casinos in Las Vegas are the jackpot hotspots? Well, I did, too, so I decided to dig into it for you.

After analyzing more than 132,700 Yelp reviews, I’ve found the top 10 casinos where guests say they feel the luckiest—and the results might surprise you.

I’ll also share my personal favorite from my time as a dealer, plus tips to help you pick your lucky spot. Ready to find out where the magic happens? Let’s dive in!

How Did We Determine ‘The Luckiest’ Casinos?

You’re probably wondering how we figured out which casinos in Las Vegas are the luckiest.

It wasn’t just a wild guess—we dug into the data. We reviewed every casino listed on Yelp in Las Vegas, analyzing over 132,700 reviews.

For each casino, we searched for ‘lucky reviews.’ These were the ones that mentioned words like ‘lucky,’ ‘luck,’ ‘win,’ ‘winner,’ ‘won,’ or ‘jackpot.’

Next, we calculated the percentage of reviews for each casino that included those lucky words.

Here’s a quick example: if a casino had 1,000 reviews, and 100 of them mentioned winning or feeling lucky, that casino would have a 10% ‘lucky review’ percentage. The casinos with the highest percentages made it into our top 10.

However, to keep things fair, we excluded casinos with less than 400 reviews. We found that smaller casinos were skewing the results because a few lucky reviews could create a high percentage.

Without this filter, the top 10 would’ve been dominated by casinos with fewer than 400 reviews, which didn’t give us the most reliable results.

Disclaimer About Luck

Even though we are providing you with a list of the luckiest casinos in Las Vegas, keep in mind that winning is a flip of a coin.

If you notice you are experiencing a winning streak, incrementally increase your wager and be sure to pocket your winnings, as you are not technically a winner until you walk out of the casino with that cash.

If you encounter a losing streak, stop playing, take a break, and try again another day. Whatever you do, don’t chase your losses.

Engage in smart bankroll management and determine how much you are comfortable losing before you walk into the casino. Don’t go past that amount.

My Personal Favorite: Gold Coast Hotel & Casino

Choosing a favorite casino is a personal decision that will be different for everyone.

Personally, I’ve always loved the Gold Coast, but that is because I started my dealing career there.

As a casino dealer, I saw a ton of people win.

Here are some of my favorite stories from when I was dealing there.

Story 1: The $2 Million Wheel of Fortune Miracle

One time, I was at a dead blackjack table, watching a 95-year-old woman sitting at a “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine right in front of me. I had been watching her play to pass the time, and out of nowhere, she hit the $2 million progressive jackpot!

You should have seen her face—her eyes practically popped out of her head. She must have thought she was hallucinating.

They took her to a back room, and the entire way there, she walked as if she were in a dream, with her mouth hanging open.

Later, I heard she tipped everyone $100 and apologized because she didn’t have more cash on hand to give them (they never pay such a big jackpot on the same day).

Story 2: The Woman Who Couldn’t Stop Hitting Blackjack

Another time, I was dealing blackjack for an 80-year-old woman who was betting $5 per hand. She hit a blackjack, winning $7.50. Then she hit a second blackjack, and then a third.

The other players were urging her to raise her bet, but she shook her head and said, “No, it won’t happen again.”

Then she hit a fourth blackjack. And a fifth. And a sixth. She went on to hit 8 blackjacks in a row—the most I’ve ever seen in my career—still betting just $5 per hand!

Story 3: The Cowboy Who Ate a Card

Every December, the rodeo comes to town, bringing a sea of cowboys with it. One year, I had a cowboy at my table, betting $1,000 per hand and clearly wasted.

He had a 16, hit it, and pulled a 10. Then, in his drunken stupor, he crumpled up that 10, and—believe it or not—he ate the card, then asked for another!

My jaw hit the floor.

I called my floorman over, saying, “We need another 10 of hearts.” Confused, he asked, “What do you mean? What happened to the last one?”

“This guy ate it,” I replied.

“No way! Stop pulling my chain, can’t you see how busy I am?,” he said, shaking his head and walking away. I called after him to check the cameras if he didn’t believe me, and sure enough, the cameras confirmed it.

When my supervisor came back to the table, he looked stunned.

“What should I do?” I asked.

“Well… if he wants a card that badly, give him another one.”

So I did. I dealt him a 5, making his total 21—and believe it or not, the cowboy ended up winning.

Story 4: Turning $2 into $200

One time, I was dealing blackjack for an older couple who had been playing for a couple of hours. The wife eventually lost all but $2.

Since it was a $5 minimum table, I suggested, “Why not put your $2 on your husband’s bet? If he wins, so do you.”

She did, and they won the hand. She pressed her bet, putting $4 on his hand for the next round, and they won again. Now, she had enough to play her own spot. Amazingly, within an hour, she turned that $2 into $200!
