Comedian Bill Engvall retired from touring at the end of 2022. Part of his reason for that retirement was that he realized during COVID-19 that he did not miss touring.

Bill Engvall Pulls an MJ and Announces Return to Touring
Bill Engvall retired from touring in 2022 and has been mildly active on social media since then.
He posts somewhat regularly on his YouTube page, typically short clips with fun little jokes or anecdotes about his retired life.
On September 17, Engvall made his latest post, BIG NEWS!, opening by comparing himself to sports and entertainment greats like Michael Jordan, Brett Farve, Tina Turner, and Cher.
He then revealed that he was also coming out of retirement for a limited-run tour.
Engvall announced his first show will be on January 11, 2025, at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA. He also addressed the “reasons” he’s coming out of retirement. They include:
- His golf game never got any better.
- He discovered his wife, Gail, really enjoys her quiet time when Bill’s not around.
- He got tired of watching TV.
Engvall will have a single 8 P.M. show at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Tickets range from $49.95 to $149.95.
Engvall is a wildly successful standup comedian who concluded a 42-year run in 2022. He is best known for his routines that include “Here’s your sign” bits that highlight stupid things that people say or do.
Bill’s career skyrocketed after becoming part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. He toured the country from 2000 through 2006 with Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Ron White.
He also had his own show, The Bill Engvall Show, and served as host for Lingo for a single season in 2011. He also appeared on The Jeff Foxworthy Show and the film Delta Farce.

He will have a single 8 P.M. show at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Tickets range from $49.95 to $149.95.
It is unclear at this time how many shows are scheduled for Engvall’s limited tour. Engvall currently resides in Utah, so a number of stops will likely be on the West Coat.
He would be a perfect performer for a limited engagement in Las Vegas, as well as stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Spokane, and Denver.
Engvall’s return to touring is not unexpected. When he initially retired, he said that he wasn’t done with comedy, merely full-time touring. It is common for celebrities to go into retirement and come back out, particularly in entertainment.
Adele has been in the news lately as she will be taking an extended hiatus from performing, with some speculating that it would lead to a retirement.
Celine Dion was rumored to have gone into retirement after she stopped touring due to her battles with Stiff Person Syndrome. However, she has recently stated that she will never retire and will always find a way to continue to perform for fans.
While Engvall isn’t on the same level as Celine Dion, he is a beloved performer with numerous fans worldwide who will love to see him return to the stage, even if it is for a limited tour.
We suggest you continue following Engvall’s YouTube channel and homepage for announcements on future tour dates so you don’t miss out on this limited run.
