Motley Crue Announces Limited Run Las Vegas Residency

Las Vegas is known for hosting the biggest names in music, so it is no surprise that the legendary metal band Mötley Crüe is coming back for its third residency.

The group announced the return on October 3 via YouTube and numerous other outlets.

The band will return to Vegas for a limited-run residency at Dolby Live at MGM Park, performing 11 shows from March 28 through April 19, 2025.

Mötley Crüe features Vince Neil on vocal, Nikki Sixx on bass, Tommy Lee on drums, and John 5 on guitar.

We’re excited to get into rehearsals and work up a lot of songs that have been requested by the fans for years.

In a press release for the upcoming residency, the band stated, “Mötley Crüe and Las Vegas have always been the perfect combination of extravagance and decadence.”

“We’ve always loved the idea of the Vegas residency because we’ve always loved the idea of staying in one location to build a unique show for the fans. We’re excited to get into rehearsals and work up a lot of songs that have been requested by the fans for years.”

It has been over a decade since the band had a Las Vegas residency. In 2012, the band performed its Mötley Crüe Takes On Sin City residency at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. They returned to the Hard Rock in 2013 for their follow-up residency, Evening in Hell.

According to Billboard, the residency will be a “tell-all show [that] will immerse the audience in the band’s history, leading all the way through their record-breaking Stadium Tour.”

If you’re looking to go out to Vegas to see the band in person, be ready to pony up a pretty penny. Tickets start at $75 per person. Prices skyrocket the closer you get to the stage, with the best seats going for over $2,300 on Ticketmaster.

Band Releases First EP Since Mick Mars Retirement

Those familiar with Mötley Crüe know that co-founder Mick Mars retired in October 2022 due to complications with ankylosing spondylitis. Following his retirement, John 5 joined the group. Before joining Mötley Crüe, John 5 was a guitarist for Rob Zombie.

On October 4, Mötley Crüe released Cancelled, the group’s first EP since Mars retired and their first release since 2019’s The Dirt Soundtrack.

The EP features three songs. The first is its title track, “Cancelled.” The others are “Dogs of War” and a cover of “Fight for Your Right” by the Beastie Boys.

The group said that its title song was inspired by the Metal Hammer article “How did Motley Crue ever not get cancelled?”

Of the release, the band stated, “It was really great getting in the studio and working on some tracks together. What started out as a couple demo ideas turned into this EP produced by Bob Rock. We look forward to getting back into the studio again soon and writing more new music, as well.”

Reactions for Cancelled have been mixed, ranging from “cringy” to “on brand” for the group.
