In the past, WiPHoF has equally celebrated players and industry professionals, showcasing diversity in its membership.

The nomination process for the 2024 class of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame is in full swing.

Voting began on September 9 and is being conducted through a public ballot on the WiPHoF homepage.

Fans can visit the website, follow the link for 2024 WiPHoF Nominations, and cast their vote.

You can nominate up to three women, and for each nomination, you can explain why the individual deserves induction.

Nominations can be for any woman who has made significant contributions to the world of poker.

In the past, WiPHoF has equally celebrated players and industry professionals, showcasing diversity in its membership.

Below are the qualifications for the WiPHoF, directly from the WiPHoF homepage:

  • A candidate must have been active as a player or industry leader for a minimum of 10 years prior to election and be 35 years of age or older.
  • The player or industry leader must have contributed to the world of poker in a significant way, either by winning major tournaments or by making impactful contributions to the poker industry.
  • The player or industry leader must be a proponent of women in poker.
  • All nominees must be approved by a committee of the Board of Directors and Inductees.
  • Nominees must agree to the terms and conditions of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame.

2024 Will Likely Be the Year of Bicknell

My top pick for induction this year is Kristen Bicknell. Some already consider her the greatest woman poker player of all time, and they have a case.

Some of you may remember my August article, “Top 3 Candidates for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame in 2024.”

I submitted my ballot before writing this piece, and below are my top picks.

Sosia Jiang is my dark horse candidate, as she’s relatively unknown to the casual poker community despite her success in high-roller tournaments.

Shirley Rosario is someone I’ve advocated for since WiPHoF’s inception. She is a mixed games expert and a major supporter of women’s poker during the Poker Boom.

Of course, my top pick for induction this year is Kristen Bicknell.

Some already consider her the greatest woman poker player of all time, and they have a case. With four WSOP bracelets and over $14 million in combined earnings, she’s an obvious choice for 2024.

However, one thing I appreciate about WiPHoF is that they don’t limit nominations to one or two members.

They’ve inducted up to four women in various years, and there are many deserving candidates along with Bicknell.

Panel Voting Begins October 14

You have until September 23 to submit your nominations.

Once fan voting concludes, the WiPHoF Nominations Committee will decide which qualified candidates make the final ballot.

Starting on October 14, a panel of WiPHoF members and select poker media will vote, with each voter distributing 10 votes as they see fit.

The Women in Poker Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon will take place in December 2024 in Las Vegas.

The specific location and time will be announced later.

If you want to make your voice heard, visit womeninpokerhalloffame.com and cast your vote for the women you believe deserve induction.
