Ladbrokes Review: My Take on This Classic Online Casino

The largest prize I saw was £1,000 for winning a slots contest, and there is no playthrough requirement for the winnings.

The slots contest allots 30 spins at 10 cents each for each player and puts you on a leaderboard for a chance to win from 50 cents to the big £1,000.

Welcome Bonus

Their welcome bonus is a simple reward of £30 for wagering £10 on any of 59 selected slots, table games, or live dealer games.

It carries a hefty 40 times playthrough requirement, so you’ll have to wager £1,200 to collect your winnings.

The bonus does not specify a time limit or minimum bet to help you in the playthrough.

If you go for this one, make customer support give you the limits.

Ladbrokes has a vast collection of games, too many for the site to categorize correctly.

For instance, their Slots category does not display nearly the 1,800 plus titles the site claims to have.

So, slots players are left to scan through the highlighted slots subcategories that include just over 300 titles, or search by title for a favorite.

There is also an All category that you can scroll through all day—there are more than 4,500 games in total.

Needless to say, there is a plentiful variety of games, but finding some game types is difficult; I had to search by title to find video poker and some table games.

Unfortunately, I could not play the games on-site, so I can’t vouch for the speed and ease of play at Ladbrokes.

But I have played many of the games elsewhere and found some new ones I tried for free at other sites.

Plus, the names of the game providers and the rules Ladbrokes works under tell me that fairness is not an issue. It’s a fun assortment for any type of player.

slots

I couldn’t come up with a definitive number of slots. The Slots category has 331 displays, but there are clearly more than that when you go to the All category.

I have to go with the 1,800+ the intro page claims.

That’s more than enough for the variety most slots players seek and more than most online casinos offer.

There is no search by provider, theme, or display type, so scrolling and title searching are the best ways to find a favorite.

This big slots library covers all of the options. The themes vary; there are buffaloes, leprechauns, kings, queens, lost civilizations, and more.

Displays include the simpler 3-wheelers and the more complex 5-reel games with multiple paylines, free spins, and bonus rounds.

I did not find specifics on bet ranges, but you can expect pennies to hundreds.

I didn’t find any of my favorite games, but I did happen upon one game that I’ve added to my favorites list.

Thoro, by ELK Studios, is a 5×5 game with level-up multipliers and plenty of exciting action.

Thor wielded his hammer effectively for me; I came out a winner, playing the game for free at another site.

I also found a place to play Ladbrokes selections: Double Bubble, Golden Winner, the beautifully crafted Ammit Treasure from Wishbone, and Playtech’s iconic Starburst.

According to their providers’ sites, the games I checked all carry RTPs of around 96%.

Blackjack

Checking out the Ladbrokes blackjack section was an adventure of discovery for me.

The site has 18 versions, most with bonus bet options and the standard 3:2 blackjack with an insurance option.

But, I focused on two Playtech blackjacks I played in the demo versions. 

One was All Bets Blackjack, which combines six bonus betting options, including a progressive with a monster payout for four suited Aces.

The other was Cashback Blackjack, which offers a variable payout if you think you cannot win on the deal.

It also has player pair and 21+3 bonus bet options that pay 25:1 for a suited pair and 100:1 for a suited three-of-a-kind.

I came up with a strategy as I played and finished a winner.

I could not view the bet ranges, but blackjack generally starts at £1 and goes to £500 per deal.

You can expect a return of 99% in the long run if you play the standard game strategy, but less if you go with bonus side bets.

Roulette

Ladbrokes goes beyond standard roulette with its 33 selections.

They, of course, have the basic single- and double-zero games, but many of them add multipliers for hitting specific numbers. And there are all sorts of displays, some with animated action.

I played 101 Roulette because I had tried it before at another site with some success.

This version has 100 numbers in ten columns, five green spaces, and a huge racetrack-type oval that the ball circles.

I like to play a 9:1 column and five corners spread out. I won before but had only a 95% return this time. Standard roulette generally offers around 97% return.

Ladbrokes is a good home for roulette players because the site seems to emphasize the game on both the digital and live dealer sides.

Other Table Games

Baccarat, casino poker, and a couple of dice games are the other table games I found at Ladbrokes.

The pokers include Casino Hold ’em, Caribbean Stud, and Mississippi Stud, and there are a couple of hi-low card games.

The baccarats appear to be standard payout games.

The dice games are poker dice and Craps the Matrix, a couple of interesting games you don’t see at most casinos.

Poker dice is a five-dice game in which you roll up to three times for the best poker hand; five of a kind pays 100:1.

Craps the Matrix is much like standard craps but with a slightly different layout to accommodate the 4 x 3 matrix bet.

Mississippi Stud jumped out at me because it is a classic casino game you rarely find online.

It’s a five-card game with progressive betting options as cards come out, and you play with a strategy of 99% RTP.

The unusual selections make Ladbrokes table games worth exploring.

Video Poker

Video poker is like a bad secret at most casinos because of its low house edge. Ladbrokes has five of them, and I had to do a title search to find them.

Two video pokers here are Jacks or Better, and the others are wild card games.

But there is no Deuces Wild, probably the best because it is more favorable to players with a good paytable and strategy.

The low number of options causes me to rate Ladbrokes low in this category.

Casual Games – Specialty Game

Bingo and its cousin Slingo are big at Ladbrokes Casino.

There are also scratch games, crash games, keno, minesweeper, lucky tap games, and plinko. None are situated in a single section, so you have to search and scroll to dig them out.

The site devotes a section to bingo, complete with displays for rooms and packages, a community with chat sections, and a how-to.

You can find games through 90-ball, 80, 75, and 30-ball categories, and there are plenty of contests going on most of the day. 

Slingo is a category with 38 variations of this online favorite.

I noticed Slingo Hot Roll, a game I became enamored with recently. It combines dice with the Slingo and bingo elements to make a super-exciting game of building multipliers and payoffs.

Live Dealer Games

Ladbrokes has a wide-ranging Live Casino section that emphasizes big wheel and game shows.

Yes, there are standard table games such as blackjack, baccarat, and roulette with a good variety of versions of each.

There are even live slot games and a few casino poker.

But, game shows, some based on TV programs like Deal or No Deal, have a significant presence in the section.

You can tune into The Chase, Crazy Time, Well Well Well!, and many more.

I did not get to experience the action, but I noticed that Evolution, Playtech, and Pragmatic Play provide the live studios and casino floor sets.

That means you can generally count on professional dealers, lively hosts, and user-friendly chat interfaces.

Watch your connection, especially with mobile play, because I’ve found the streams can be interrupted and sometimes disconnected.

This was my experience with the support representatives at Ladbrokes.

Navigating Ladbrokes Casino was fairly straightforward, thanks to its intuitive menus, which helped me locate most of what I was looking for.

However, I still had to use the title search for some games, which felt a bit inconvenient, especially for popular titles that could be easier to spot.

On mobile, the display is just as clean and user-friendly, making it easy to switch between sections without much hassle.
