In 2012, Gov. John Kasich signed HB 386 and effectively legalized racinos. This legislation paved the way for seven racetracks (covered next) to add video lottery terminals (VLTs).
These terminals look and play much like slot machines, with only slight differences in determining prizes. Unlike the four commercial casinos, racinos cannot offer table games like blackjack and roulette.

The Buckeye State has seven horse racks and one off-track betting facility, including the following:
